EYFS Home Learning
Welcome back, we hope you have all had a lovely Easter with your families and are staying safe.
We have some fun filled Summer Term home learning activity suggestions for you to try. These suggestions will be updated weekly. As always, we encourage you to share your learning experiences with us on Tapestry.
Our new topic for the first half of the Summer Term is ‘Ready, Steady, Grow’. We would like the children to gain a hands-on experience of planting seeds, observing and caring for the plants as they grow. We have enlisted the help of Mrs Bloom (you might recognise her!) to help you with this.
This term our Religious Education theme is ‘New Life’. In the first half of the term the children will hear that Jesus was raised to new life at Easter. Before the holidays they began to experience the preparation for Easter in the classroom. Now they will learn how Jesus went back to his Father in Heaven and promised his friends the gift of the Holy Spirit, to help them to spread the Good News about Jesus.
Below are links to a number of websites which will enable you to find resources and a bank of ideas of additional activities you can do with your children when they are at home.
The activities include PowerPoints and interactive games which children can complete using a tablet or computer. These include labelling parts of the body, playing counting games, exploring rhyming words, and practising reading tricky words, reading stories together, playing on a virtual piano and learning about internet safety with Buddy the Dog. There are also activity ideas for you to read and complete with your child. These include practising fine motor skills by drawing lines and patterns, making shaving foam rain clouds, making and cooking a pitta bread pizza, singing songs and Nursery Rhymes and writing CVC words. The resource also includes suggestions for other follow-up activities.
