Changes to risk assessment impacting on parents

2 October 2020 (by clare.moulding)

Dear Parents/Carers,

Following a further analysis of our risk assessment, I am making some small changes that will impact on parents or adults who bring and collect the pupils.

As a result of a small but steady increase in families having to isolate due to parents testing positive for COVID-19, I am now stating that all adults MUST WEAR A FACE COVERING when they drop their child off or come to collect them. I am sure you would agree that we have to do everything we can to protect each other, our families, the children in our care and the school staff. I am very mindful of our role in supporting the safety of all, especially with transmission rates increasing which seems to be impacting on parents at this time.

Please remember the symptoms of COVID-19:

A high temperature – feeling hot to touch on your back or chest (you do not need to measure your temperature)

A new, continuous cough – coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 episodes within 24 hours

A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste (this appears to be becoming more prevalent as a symptom)

Thank you for your co-operation in ensuring we do everything we can to protect ourselves and each other - please pass this information to the adult who brings or collects your child.

With kind regards

Mrs Clare Moulding (Headteacher)
