Agreement from PHE and DFE to open Class 4

20 July 2021 (by clare.moulding)

Good morning,

I have just come off the phone with our Chair of Governor's having spoken this morning at length with Public Health England and DFE who have agreed, despite being in an outbreak area with very high infection rates, for me to open Class 4 and await the decisions of Test and Trace and the Yorkshire and Humber Health Protection Team following the pupil's PCR test that was to take place this morning. I ask that the pupils in Class 4 return to school at 10:30am this morning or as soon as possible after that to give chance for the staff in their class to also get to school and the class to be opened again.

I thank you for your partnership working and understanding as I gained the very much needed advice having had such a lot of positive cases across school over the last two weeks and 4 class closures, especially as we are in an outbreak area. I am very aware that I have a duty to ensure families, pupils and staff feel and are safe in school and that we do everything to try to minimise any anxiety or concerns as we come to the end of a very challenging year and hopefully have chance to enjoy the summer.

We look forward to seeing the children back in school and they have the chance to spend more time with Mrs Cawtheray and Mrs Graham whilst we await further decisions by Test and Trace and the Health Protection Team later in the week.

With kind regards

Mrs Clare Moulding
