Headlice in school

6 January 2023 (by clare.moulding)

Good afternoon,

I have been made aware today, following the message that was sent out yesterday, that we have found headlice in pupils hair in EYFS today. Parents have been informed and asked to ensure they are treated but I felt it important that you are all made aware that we do have headlice in school at the moment following return from the Christmas holidays.

If you find that your child does have headlice it is important that they and the rest of the family are treated as soon as possible as it is so easy to spread.

Please could I ask that all parents, especially in EYFS and KS1 check their child's hair when they return home from school today- headlice are very easily spread amongst children but are easily treated and therefore stop the spread. Let us all work together to ensure we do not have a large outbreak across school.

Thank you in anticipation

With kind regards

Mrs Clare Moulding
