Suncream in school and breaktime snacks25 May 2023 (by clare.moulding) |
Good afternoon,
It has been brought to my attention that with the weather improving, we have an increasing number of pupils (especially the younger KS1 pupils) bringing suncream into school. Could I please ask that children have suncream applied by parents before they come to school and not sent for them to apply themselves at playtime - you can get suncream that would last for the school day, as I do not want to have a situation where pupils are trying to be kind and sharing their suncream with a friend and have a reaction to it.
Can I also remind everyone that we do allow pupils to bring a small snack for breaktime, HOWEVER it must be a healthy snack such as a piece of fruit, squeezy yoghurt or a cereal bar and not crisps or chocolate.
It is very important to remember that we are also a NUT FREE school and so you cannot send ANY item of food whether that be for break or lunch that contains nuts as we do have pupils and staff with allergies. It is essential we all work together to keep everyone in school safe.
With kind regards
