St Patrick's Catholic Primary Academy

The Batley Schools Association Cross Country event is at Batley Sports Centre this coming Tuesday at 4pm.  St Patrick's have an outstanding 80 runners from KS2 who have been working incredibly hard at training since we have returned in September.

The event starts at 4pm with the Year 3 Girls Race and will finish at approximately 5:45pm with the Year 6 Boys being the final final race.

The order of races will be as follows:

Year 3 Girls    1150m

Year 3 Boys    1150m

Year 4 Girls    1150m

Year 4 Boys   1150m

Year 5 Girls  1500m

Year 5 Boys   1500m

Year 6 Girls    1500m

Year 6 Boys   1500m

The races will take place behind the sports centre on the Howden Clough Playing Fields.

Parking will be extremely restricted as Mr Troop is expecting over 600 participants so I recommend that you park on Windmill Lane or Upper Batley Low Lane as the main sports centre car park will be at capacity prior to 4pm.

ALL children must meet Mrs Abbott and St Patrick's staff at the top of the playing field where a barrier will be placed to seperate the runners from all parents/grandparents etc.  Please can all parents respect this barrier as the runners area, as you can appreciate, will be extremely busy.  Staff will line all the children up in their year groups where the children will wait sensibly until their race time.

After each race, Mrs Abbott will gather all the children at the finish line to record their finishing position.  She will then take ALL the children back to the parents barrier ready for Mrs Moulding and Miss Gott to dismiss the children.  ALL the children will need to wait patiently for their parents as staff will tick off each child on our register to ensure a safe dismisal.  Please can all parents be patient and respectful towards staff as we have lots of children to dismiss and we must do this in a safe manner.  We thank you in advance for your patience and courtesy.

All the children have been training incredibly hard in preparation for Tuesdays race.  We wish them all the very best of luck!

Any questions - please see Mrs Abbott

Kind regards

Mrs Abbott
