KS2 CROSS COUNTRY

8 October 2024 (by Fiona Abbott (fiona.abbott))

Good morning

KS2 cross country is going ahead as planned.  Any changes will be announced on Jotter (only showers forecast so very likely to continue to to go ahead as planned).

Just a polite reminder that all children should be dressed appropriately - raincoat and skins if preferred.  Football boots are allowed on the soft ground.

All children should be in full St Patrick's PE kit - PE shirt, green shorts/black joggers or leggings and jumper to stay warm whilst waiting.

Please ensure your child has a bottle of water with them.

All children with inhalers must have it on their person and hand it to Mrs Abbott before their race.

Please ensure your child goes to the toilet before they arrive.  Children need to go to the toilet at Batley Sports Centre with their responsible adult if they need to due to high numbers of children attending.

Please try to park on Upper Batley Lane rather than in the sports centre car park as this will be extremely busy.

Children will meet St Patrick's staff at the top of the field (cordoned off area) and this will be their 'base'  After their race, all children must return to this area to be registered.  The children will then be dismissed to their responsible adults in an orderly manner (we thank you in advance for your patience with this).

The event is planned to begin at 4pm but there is a late start of 4:15pm if necessary.

All children in Years 5 and 6 DO NOT need to arrive until after 4:30pm at the earliest.

We wish all our 83 brave cross country runners the best of luck!

Kind regards

Mrs Abbott
