Parent update on school opening tomorrow7 January 2025 (by clare.moulding) |
Good evening,
I do hope everyone has been safe and well today.
I wanted to send a message this evening to let you know that I have arranged a telephone meeting with Mr Parry (Caretaker), Miss Gott and Mrs Brown (Chair of Governors) early tomorrow morning around 6:15am (after Mr Parry's health and safety walk of the school grounds) where a decision will be made around school opening or remaining closed. The conditions on our school grounds, the local roads and pedestrian walk ways have been treacherous today despite a huge amount of work completed by Mr Parry - the playground and other areas had 3-4cm thick ice with snow covering which also iced over.
The weather forecast does not look favourable for a thaw however a decision will be made once we know the extent of the school and local conditions in the morning - assessing the safety for both pedestrians and cars. I will send a jotter message and email as soon as I can in the morning - HOPING for an improvement so we can begin our new term! The options for decision will be normal opening, late opening or school will remain closed - safety for all being our priority.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
Kind regards
Clare Moulding
