Update for Parents/Carers

8 January 2025 (by clare.moulding)

Good evening,

I do hope everyone has been safe and well today and have enjoyed the home learning provision that has been sent through. It has been lovely to see and hear about the work that has been completed by the pupils in our TEAMs meetings today. Thank you so much for working in partnership with us.

I wanted to send another message this evening to confirm that, like today, there will be a telephone meeting with Mr Parry (Caretaker), Miss Gott and Mrs Brown (Chair of Governors) early tomorrow morning around 6:15am (after Mr Parry's health and safety walk of the school grounds) where a further decision will be made around school opening or remaining closed. The conditions on our school grounds, the local roads and pedestrian walk ways have once again been treacherous today. I along with our governors have been submitting requests to the council for gritting to be done on Cambridge Road and Nova Lane so that we can make it safe enough to open school - I am sure you, like myself and all school staff are very frustrated with the challenging situation we are faced with at the moment.

The weather forecast overnight is not helpful however a decision will be made once we know the extent of the school and local conditions in the morning - assessing the safety for both pedestrians and cars. I will send a jotter message and email as soon as I can in the morning - truly HOPING for an improvement so we can at last begin our new term! The options for decision will once again be normal opening, late staggered opening or school will remain closed - safety for all being our priority. IF we remain closed we will send further home learning that has been prepared today but let us all pray for better conditions!

Thank you for your continued support and understanding - I apologise for the disruption the weather is causing and the frustration you must feel!

Kind regards

Clare Moulding
