St Patrick's will sadly remain CLOSED today with home learning9 January 2025 (by clare.moulding) |
Good morning,
Following another on site health and safety assessment, St Patrick's will sadly remain closed today due to the dangerously icy conditions around school and the local area. The access paths and roads leading to school remain treacherous and not safe for cars or pedestrians and therefore it is NOT safe to travel to school. There would be serious threat of accidents when trying to access the surrounding areas of school, park cars for drop off and walk along the compacted and icy snow as well as ice and black ice patches. The hard work completed by Mr Parry on the school site will continue today; further grit being put down to try to make safe pathways to the main entrance as they are once again covered with ice and black ice and unsafe to walk on (in hope and preparation for tomorrow). An additional factor in our decision making is again the weather forecast showing that temperatures will remain below zero and so very little opportunity for a thaw later in the morning.
As a result of the continued closure, there will once again be home learning tasks sent across the Class Dojo or Tapestry at around 9:15am this morning. We would very much welcome communication to class teachers through the class dojo or tapestry so that we (the staff) know you are safe and well.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding during this most challenging time. I again apologise for the disruption that is being caused by the school closures, we are all very frustrated and I know you will echo that feeling - the safety of our whole school community must be our priority. Please stay safe and I will provide further updates regarding tomorrow - let us hope and pray for an improvement.
Kind regards
Clare Moulding
