Update for Parents/Carers

9 January 2025 (by clare.moulding)

Good evening,

I do hope everyone has been safe and well today and have enjoyed the home learning provision that has been sent through. It has been great hearing about the different creative activities that the pupils have been doing at home such as designing and making their own board games!  Thank you so much for continuing to work in partnership with us.

I wanted to send another message this evening to confirm that, like the last couple of days, there will be a telephone meeting with Mr Parry (Caretaker), Miss Gott and Mrs Brown (Chair of Governors) early tomorrow morning around 6:15am (after Mr Parry's health and safety walk of the school grounds and local area) where a further decision will be made around school opening or remaining closed. I am happy to say that the submissions to the council have led to better gritting of Cambridge Road and the path immediately outside the school pedestrian gate which is positive news.

The weather forecast overnight is, I am sure you will agree, rather a concern with reported temperatures down to -10 degrees in the local area around school. We will however make a decision once we know the extent of the school and local conditions in the morning - assessing the safety for both pedestrians and cars. I will send a jotter message and email as soon as I can in the morning - truly HOPING that the conditions allow us to open for the final day of the week. The options for decision will once again be normal opening and closing, late opening with a staggered end of day to support safety on the school grounds or school will sadly remain closed - safety for all being our continued priority.

IF we remain closed we will send further home learning that has been prepared just in case today today but let us all pray for the needed improvement in conditions!

Thank you for your continued support and understanding, I once again apologise for the disruption the weather is causing and the growing frustration you must feel - I do hope we will see you all tomorrow.

Kind regards

Clare Moulding
